This review is from: Samsung Digimax 240 2.1MP Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom (Electronics)
Before buying this camera (my first digicam), I consulted with my pals who have been using various fitness equipment for months, or years. I hesitated on buying Digimax 240 thanks to horrible comments given by the Amazon.com folks below. Also, I saw what amount people talked about Canon A40 in Amazon.com. So that i was strongly leaning toward investing in Canon A40 that also has 2.0 M Pixels. Then, I am choosing for taking an occasion after seeing sample photos taken by Digimax 240 in the potential sellers who took time to express their photos beside me. (My sample photos from Digimax 240: http://photos.yahoo.com/brianmustbecrazy) All things considered, I am capable of paying not even half of what Canon A40 can be cost.
2 M Pixles from Digimax 240 one is the most than sufficient for photo sizes of 4 X 6 or 5 X 7 as it gives superb photo quality & sharpness. I know that it is great enough for larger photo sizes besides as soon as the best performance settings are chosen when taking shots.
I notice that lots of folks were unsatisfied with the short battery. But I conclude the reason is that Digimax 240 operates on 2 AA batteries whereas almost every other 2 MP fitness equipment need 4 AA batteries. It's just a trade off because 2 AA batteries provide you shorter life, but 4 battery operated cameras appear and feel funny (also bulky and heavier) since they need to house 4 AA batteries. Digimax 240 has a attractive shape with no funny contour while it only houses two AA batteries makes it much simpler to pack and carry. Also, see my investigate rechargeable batteries towards the end.
Here are good and bad of my Digimax 240.
Very good: Excellent photo quality, sharpness / Ergonomics & easiness of camera operation / Easy to understand manual / Light weight wise / Incorporates a quality pouch / Solid construction / Easy software installation / Different settings to target different weather situation cloudy, sunny, sunset and even more / Different settings for fineness and sharpness 1200 X 1600, 600 X 800 and even more. This will give someone to control the figures on the file sometimes you wouldn't like the photo that should be too big in quality. / Automatically (as well as manually) capable of customize the degree light exposure (separate feature with the aforementioned weather settings) this can help you to get quality photos in darker and brighter environment. Usually the digital camera will automatically adjust the settings based on different environment, nonetheless can achieve it manually at the same time, over riding the automated settings. Being in position to manually adjust the weather and lightweight exposure really made improvement at my photo outputs in two extremes.
Good: Flash reload time / Flash power may very well be stronger as the flash recommended range in dark indoor space is mostly about 8 feet. However, goods on the market the photo editors are for. Also, conversing with and seeing photos from many friends with fancy unwanted cameras, I found out that shooting, focusing and quality photo product in darker environment rrs really a challenge for just about any photographic camera. For instance, conventional film camera is still the path to take for photos in darker settings.
Bad: Fairly short battery but my buddies with video camera brands explained the build can't really use theirs without rechargeable batteries and AC adaptor... Besides, the manual strongly recommends using AC adaptor when connecting to PC, while batteries really get used up. I suggest NiMH type rechargeable batteries and an AC adaptor I acquired them and they work wonderfully. Considering the first 2 AA size rechargeable batteries I've got shot close to 100 shots with flash and that i still weren't required to recharge the batteries.
