See my reviews This review is from: Kodak EasyShare M530 12MP Dslr camera with 3x Wide Angle Optical Zoom and a couple of.7 Inch LCD (Blue) (Electronics) My first digital camera must have been a Kodak DX6440, that was a wonderful camera in it's day (2003). Following Kodak, We a Fuji J20, that i was very unhappy with; very noticeable vignetting (dark corners) just how pictures. I chose to return to Kodak i really purchased the M530. Happy along with it! The appearance of it, the particular quality, software is all super good. Pictures are really crisp, clear and accurate for any sub $100 camera. The smart capture mode is effective too and it's reliable. There are some minor annoyances though. One, you doesn't remember which mode to start out up in. It automatically defaults to smart capture when the digital camera is activated. This really is somewhat irritating since you aren't likely leave the camera on a long time between shots, incase you want to capture pictures with a lot more manual control, you have got to opt for the mode you need everytime you is started up. Luckily, an individual interface is pretty well designed though in which you don't have to hit twelve buttons you need to do what you wish you need to do. Two, the auto white balance are usually somewhat unreliable. I discovered that colors either come out too cool (blueish tint) or too warm (redish tint), although many shots churn out perfectly. The drawback seems exacerbated when taking pictures of landscapes. The angle of your sun also affects the white balance selection. Turn in the sun and you should get different colors than you get avoiding sunshine. I'd personally the auto mode gets it right about 70% almost daily. Lastly, because camera implements a very inexpensive lens, there may some minor light falloff seen in much of the pictures. I find that it truly is noticable when sky takes up a sizable area of the scene with the picture. You'll notice an exceedingly gradual darkening while you move at the two upper corners. The thing is minor though, and then for the majority it shouldn't be a problem. I, however, think it's annoying. Overall though, this camera is an excellent buy.
