5.0 using 5 stars Highly recommeded product, November 8, 2006
This review is from: Philips 6.5 Inch Digital Picture Frame (Clear) w/3 Additional Colored Frames (Electronics)
UPDATE: 1/30/2008
This item have been charging nearly $200 lately. In my opinion that price is too big. Even at $150, this ought to be overpriced. I'd personally wait for price ahead down or discover the same item from another source!
Below are my original comments in Nov. 2006:
I have this course for several days now and I am happy about it. My co workers liked it too.
Pros:
beautiful, crisp images even at close range
controllable brightness level
programmable display is generally switched on and off automatically at certain times
has option for battery or AC
support for multiple memory cards
easily loads and displays file from an Facts while not having to be worried about filenames.
automatically rotates images
has of internal memory for added images. I've read that it must be only 14MB though.
resizes the photos without cropping them.
Cons;
Battery is just not replaceable.
No battery level indicator.
Battery is barely 50 minutes in slideshow mode (based upon published specs.)
edges in most images are actually rugged however Relating to my pictures inside the same ratio as 720x480.
no touchscreen display screen input (or is the fact that an excess of?)
the controls behind needs a little of buying familiar with, otherwise they can be able
At my initial few minutes of use, I have got observed that it was not displaying one image properly after a slide show. I merely pressed some control to switch it to Browse mode then into Slideshow mode also it will not happen again.
Now of course Facts is inserted along with the digital frame is started up, it automatically copies the files through the card to its of internal memory. The process is slow. I am not sure why it's getting this done. So I set a habit to show it on first then insert the SD card.
Not tested for:
Software that were included with the item
Some stuff I did so:
I resized my huge images (I kept a unique keep in mind) and it saved us a lot of space without having affected the image quality much. I've got my pictures sizes between 32KB to 250KB. But if your images do not have the identical ratio as 720x480, they will have dark border along the sides or number one and bottom.
I made use of 2GB of Facts. All I did was insert it behind and i also began to benefit from ipod pictures.
Conclusion:
This is a mandatory product despite it's minor problems. The charge is fair in comparison with similar products which I've read usually aren't competitive with this. I am just wondering Why do their 9 inch version boasts a lower resolution? That's the reason why I chosen this.
