5.0 because of 5 stars Great Point and Shoot with caveat..., August 15, 2007
This review is from: Panasonic Lumix FX100K 12.2MP Dslr camera with 3.6x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black) (Electronics)
This rrs really a terrific little compact digital (and I do mean little) those of you that want big bright photos and also a camera that produces good shots as they are.
Note that it shouldn't be a camera for those who want some control over their photos you don't have shutter, aperture, or manual settings modes available on this camera. The scene modes create barely recognizable differences in shots.
What you does is produce great shots when the world is well lit, or using the flash. Just what the camera doesn't do is take good shots in higher ISO ranges The scene modes work effectively, but you see noticable noise even at 400 ISO in darker shots. Big event unique to that camera, but all Panasonic lumix cameras in most cases.
The lens is supurb the shots clear, sharp, and color saturated. Leica rules.
I get myself liking this camera a growing number of per day however it is not really camera for an individual who want a dSLR substitute nor a bridge type camera. While I wouldn't hesitate include an area and shoot for instance Canon G7 or go with the Nikon P5000 on the vacation, including, We'd be weary of carrying only this camera it is usually designed more for everyday shots than for such thinggs as travel photography.
On the other one hand, if you happen to someone like myself who loves to go on a great quality camera along to places like carnivals, picnics, parties, out with family or kids or friends, and want something minute throw into your pocket or purse, this camera creates wonderful photos with one simple snap belonging to the shutter.
I recommend your camera but only for men and women who want an easy point and shoot around the complete concise explaination that category switch it on, point it and your target, and snap away.
Get a great memory!! A 2 GB card will net you 380 photos. Also, purchase an extra battery, because won't discover that 380 prior to an battery dies (about 300).
Like other lumix cameras, you have the selected different movie size settings determined by your needs.
I like. But I personally use either my G7 for travel, or my dSLR for serious photography. Still, during the past week, this camera proceeded to go with me at night everywhere and I ma proud of the snapshots We are getting!
Finally this camera just looks and feels great! It will be more "masculine" looking as opposed to most recent lumix cameras, with squared off features. The Black looks great (I favor black bodies) items can be chosen in silver.
I have actually had people stop me and have me what kind of camera Now i'm using.
