Is interesting just how many people come up with a review about , in such cases, some and portable camera making his judgement like if they're scams handling an SLR.
Im a profesional photographer and i also enjoy having an excellent and portable camera "just in case", and i also found this camera ( i needed first the 12 megapixel fx100) almost perfect. wonderfull design and remarcable results. everyone knows about noise from this cameras over 400 iso. The many CAMERAS this particular range have a similar limitation about noise;small dimensions the sensor and therefore the "race" of megapixels get this to. You may bet of the fact that alternative in this class of cameras (2009 generation) would be enhance the size the sensor.
So you should look the differences bewteen barefoot and shoes. Color rendition within the panasonic: beautifull...quality lens.. leica,and deserves the name. video in hd.. enjoy it.. options of settings: very much... construccion: excelent... easy of use control.. cant beat it, and... RAW format.. indeed!! the first one through this range with this privilege. for those who consider just what you buying (and what for) as well as much will you be paying (!!) i recomend this camera with no reservations.
Update. Well i still recomend this camera but... with reservations. After some time and lots of pics i must agree concerning the noise. More than ever before and most the last model fx100. If you need to take pictures under a good day light is ok, and the company's balance of the flash is excelent, but under low light.. hmmm.. simply for the computer monitor or (nice)"pictoric efect"..
