5.0 out of 5 stars Olympus as just stated meets me with C 725, December 17, 2004
This review is from: OLYMPUS Camedia C 725 Ultra Zoom Photographic camera (Electronics)
I bought the C 700 4 common @ $499. Just bought the C 725 on discount sales at Office Max for $199. I traded up from Two to three mp and am look like I became a steal.
Originally was looking for a very good price on the C 740. Stumbled with this deal are considering combination of 8x optical and 3x digital. Also the C 720 at $149 available may have met my tastes. Are identical when considering features with one exception. C 725 uses the xD while C 720 uses SmartMedia (comparable to my old C 700). Would rather have stayed with a similar media format though the C 720 was due to stock.
Here's why one of these most stylish. Better optics, manually controlled pop up flash (avoids embarrasing situations as soon as you might forget to show off flash in the flash free environment), 3 mp provides an excellent a higher standard detail that still allows me to get through my computer memory (most C 725 photos take cheaper than 600 kb while C 700 average about 450 kb), additionally , the extra plus would be the My Mode setting. Finally, I'm able to let down the digital camera and switch it back on and have absolutely it remember earn money like my settings.
A word about pixels. The larger the megapixels the higher the memory required. Its not all 2 and 3 megapixel cameras are equal. Do not buy 4+ mp only because people think they're better. A superior quality 3 mp like Olympus 700 series is more manageable file sizes. May possibly an inventory in excess of 4,000 photos i always can fill on a a small number of DVDs. Have no idea the quantity of We need if they all were in memory hogging 4+ mp size.
All belonging to the Olympus products take great photos. I can't mind the miscroscopic LCD. Although i the vast majority of my editing using the pc anyway. Don't even bother while using USB cable. This causes you to use up battery life. Just select modest card reader, swap and go.
Here's the facts to actually good photos using Olympus. In P mode, Select Spot metering, reduce experience of 0.7, set Contrast to high, start up zoom, and constantly take extra shot or two (they're digital just delete the bad ones). Then bare this in My Mode.
I travel everywhere. Irrrm a sucker for taking photos within the plane, to the side of the street, while with only a stop light, anywhere. I usually fill a card then delete in third to half photographs get home.
Using spot metering, I can also in most cases obtain the right compensation for whatever light can be acquired. Benefit from digital's chance to lock a setting by emphasizing an item, pressing halfway regarding the shutter, then reframing. That's it. Spot metering insures what's left.
By using high contrast, my photos are much more vivid. And despite everything you listen to digital zoom like a glorified cropping tool, with optics just like Olympus, it is possible to freeze a fastball in the upper sections with clarity which may blow you away. Spot metering also allows you to capture more natural colors when photographing you child on stage along at the school play with no need to your flash.
If that is too dang hard remember, it's possible to just set the camera on Auto mode but still take fabulous photos.
Although less compact being the cutesy cameras released now, it's small enough to not take a rediculous amount of space around my briefcase. And I can always buy a good 4 pack of AA batteries to confirm My business is ready to get more photos.
Here's some advice: Don't dispose of the batteries when investing in the minimum power warning. Buy them with your junk drawer inside your home. They're still many power left for Gameboys, kitchen clocks, toys, etc. Cameras or scanners just require max available power so buy good batteries. The phone shop branded 10 / $1 alkalines just won't do.
