5.0 out from 5 stars Excellent Camera, March 27, 2005
This review is from: Nikon Coolpix 5600 5MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Electronics)
I have owned 2 other camcorders before (Kodak and Fuji) and surely the Nikon Coolpix 5600 is during a league of the company's own.
Although it's really small, it really is surprisingly ergonomic. My hands are not tiny but as compared with my other cameras this town fits perfectly and doesn't induce crampy hand muscles. The fact is plastic but does not feel cheap.
When When i first picked up this camera, I'd not look at the manual. I simply turned it on and started experimenting in it. My first impression: It's intuitive. Recption menus button for the back triggers varying choices which might depend on which mode one choses (Auto, Scene, Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Night Shots and Movie). All the other buttons are straightforward as well. For instance, if you want to delete a picture a charge card took, you should only press the button together with the trash can symbol...
Later I briefly went on the manual and also found it to be a simple read and structured. Unlike many other manuals this package were an ordeal.
The 5600's autofocus is very fast. Keep in mind if your flash is required, recharging swallows a spot of time, but without flash the digital camera is ready for the following shot in a very snap. Several program choices yield truly awesome results. I took mainly indoor pictures a long way and am surprised about the product quality. Unlike other cameras, the flash light does not wash out colors. The photos come out balanced and merely simply very nice and natural looking.
I also adore the 'assist' functions: In many modes, it's possible to develop you to display helpful frames, e.g. in Portrait mode anyone online can provide the outline to a person's head and shoulders diplayed. All the aspiring photographer wants to do is to hold the camera capable the location where the head of his/her subject is inside the circle frame, shoot, and the camera does all others. One can even display this frame within the left or, alternatively, within the right or have a portrait shot of 2 different people with two such assist frames displayed.
I didn't yet had an hour or two to experiment with every one of the functions (haven't tried Sports mode too much yet, or the copy function to repeat back & white text) but one thing I can already say: This is not only the neatest camera I had owned to date, moreover it takes excellent pictures with very balanced flash light results. For me, on the list of quality signs is when searching for camera handles area red, and this one does an excellent job in this region, too. To anyone considering this camera: Do it now, you do not be sorry. And then the price it great, too!
