Face Detection equipped on HD Everio appears to have been upgraded. When shooting, it intelligently detects as much 16 faces then accurately adjusts the target and exposure. It works for both video and digital stills. And even though evaluating scenes during the Play mode, thumbnails are generally displayed with close ups of detected faces so its possible to easily identify who's around the file.
