This is known as a poorly engineered product. The best sign of trouble was whenever i look into the recommendation from the user's help guide to remove the batteries after the unit isn't really utilized. If you don't eliminate the batteries, they are going to discharge in 2 or 3 days. A 50 cent on/off switch can be largely fixed this problem.

The next concern is using the software. Quite simple handle XP. Meade gives a ridiculous Help Sheet for XP users on their webpage, but it only provides jerry rigged half solutions. For everyone practical purposes the technology doesn't work on Windows XP. I do not recognize how it performs on other versions of windows.

Then there is the digital camera. By using a 50 ft MINIMUM focus and also the low resolution VGA camera, tend not to anticipate to take the glorious closeups shown in meade's advertisements. The auto shutoff is another problem. Unit will let down between shots making spontaneous photography impossible.
