4.0 out from 5 stars Overall, a mouse you may be proud use against your desk, November 15, 2004
This review is from: Logitech MX 510 Performance Optical Gaming Mouse (Red) (Electronics)
I ordered this mouse from Amazon.com the other day that's why arrived the day after it shipped together with another item. They only keep getting faster and faster! Now, for the product itself. My group is very picky on mice and, since I've never owned a Logitech mouse of my own , personal, really was reluctant to purchase this model. I had been really spoiled by my Intellimouse Explorer optical (amongst the earliest models) and wasn't looking forward to upgrading, but since the mouse was dying I had produced no choice. Today's generation of Intellimouse Explorers weren't getting such rave reviews and i also also wasn't ready to leap into wireless mice at this time, since I have the technology there's not advanced enough for daily gaming (though, in the case of the MX1000, Possible be wrong)
After weighing this mouse (the red version, the blue was higher priced for some reason) with MX1000, the worth difference and incredible reviews won me over, so that i bought the MX510. After nearly a week's valuation on use, allow me to share my impressions.
1. The MX510 is both simpler to move plus much more accurate than these mouse. It moves effortlessly throughout the screen and me never gets fatigued. This mouse isn't only fitted to gaming, but excellent for any task worth considering A number of mouse activity, like graphics editing such as.
2. I actually thought We would never work with the two cruise control buttons, but I see them very handy. The simple truth is that this top cruise control button is high up, and discover require to reach a tad further to get to it, although with my hands (which aren't everything large) I don't discover it problematic the least bit.
3. The Quick Switch Program Selector is sweet, but I find ALT+TAB to generally be faster. However, like every buttons in this particular mouse, the MouseWare drivers from Logitech assist you to map this button to only about any task that appeals to you, as opposed to replacing shouldn't utilize default setting I believe you may realise of the more useful action due to this button.
4. Forward and Back buttons are simpler to reach and then click easier than my old Intellimouse.
5. Unlike some individuals here, I recently found the sculpt about this mouse to remain very form fitting to my hand (when you're right handed!) It's my opinion people having problems get back will be the with either really large or smaller hands, and thereby cannot be helped.
6. The sole cavet There really is is a scroll wheel, which will not scroll quite as smoothly nor click quite as quickly as my previous mouse. I'm hoping that, as time wears on, it may get "worn in" and function more to my liking. Functions fine, just takes more effort. I could settle for it.
I would recommend this mouse to anyone searching for a high performance, comfortable mouse. This is probably the best non cordless model being produced today. Great job Logitech!
P.S. do not forget to take advantage of the latest MouseWare drivers from logitech.com, those people along the CD are outdated. As of this writing the hottest are 9.80.
