This review is from: Leica D Lux 4 Dslr camera (Black) (Electronics)
I have already been an experienced guitarist shooter for 20 years now, and have absolutely always used Canon gear. Today, my kit includes the 1Ds Mark III and over 14 L series, or special purpose lenses. I honestly say how the little Leica gives my pro system a run for their money, with only a fraction of one's cost, and weight. Additionally , it allows me and keep quite a low profile if needed, though this camera is gorgeous.
The lens produces astounding sharpness, large and contrast of one's JPEGs are amazing right outside the camera, buyers ., the dynamic black or white mode does produce that magical "Leica feel" right straight from the camera. I have been skeptical at the outset, however, even with one sunset test shoot, We also are in agreement with other users in such a point. At 460k, the LCD screen has ultra a much higher resolution, while all camera operations are very fast. It's simply an incredible camera.
As for those cons that other users mention...i believe, no, the mode dial isn't that uncomplicated to accidentally turn. After you grab the digital camera you'll notice that your index finger, once poised covering the shutter button, simply probably will not close enough to the mode dial to have accidental spin. Also, the autofocus for spontaneous shooting, in low light can also be plenty fast enough, and does not unnecessarily go looking for subjects, needless expenses.
CONS: (1) Tend not to waste your money about the optional 24mm viewfinder. The optics, even at $350, really don't zoom to complement whatever focal length the lens is definitely at, which forces want you to shoot at 24mm each and every time, which type defeats the reason for getting a zoom lens capability. Additionally, this doesn't even offer shoot information around the display, unlike a DSLR which creates this change and makes traditional viewfinder shooting possible.
(2) Don't waste your income relating to the Leica battery. Instead, choose the one for that Panasonic LX3, that could be identical, only it would not necessarily say Leica and costs most of just as much. The principle of Leica charging more without offering you any additional battery capacity simply irritates me.
OPTIONAL: I did so splurge for your brown leather Leica case. That's a little overpriced to make certain, however , when you've understand this far, then you're someone ready to pay $700 for your compact digital anyway, to additionally just complete the package. It's pure class all the way around. When your goal have also been to bask in Leica social cachet, than the case completes the package. For anyone an expert shooter, then furthermore , it provides instant reassurance on your clients that yes, "this guy is normally pulling out a point and shoot camera on that shoot, but oh wait, it appears to be an impressive machine. It's nothing but good."
In the, I promise no one will be disappointed. This little gem may be worth the money, and possesses definitely earned the foregoing these have already attained.
Happy shooting...
