This review is from: Konica Minolta Dimage X50 5MP Camera with 2.8x Optical Zoom (Electronics)
I just purchased this AWESOME ultracompact camcorder from my local camera store. My group is never ever a novice to photo digital portrait photography. I purchased this breadmaker my 1st video camera (Nikon Coolpix 990) over 4 years ago just for within thousand dollars. As it took great pictures, it was subsequently too bulky together with a bit too simple to customise the settings around the camera. My 2nd camera was really a SONY Mavica that one had TERRIBLE photo quality. My 3rd camera was canon's S50 and that is very well thought of butI had 3 reactions to it 1. Rrt had been too bulky to toss into my pocket. 2. The toggle switches is a pain to run (they eliminated them for ones S60/70) 3. I seemed to be not amazed from the photo quality. To be truthful, It looks like my Nikon Coolpix took better indoor pictures also it only had 3 (vs 5) mega pixels! I had heard that Nikon utilizes all very reputable photo lenses in the field which result in great looking pictures. I am pondering finding the Nikon Coolpix 3200 Nonetheless the shutter speed is far too slow! There are an economical, plastic body. I quickly read Mossberg's review of the Dimage X50 within the Wall Street Journal and was very intrigued. So, I headed to my local camera store and bought it (these people have a 7 day return/exchange policy). I took loads of pictures of my baby both indoors and out, and I was VERY IMPRESSED in the photo quality (on a camera this tiny)*.
UPDATE:
*Some reviewers hated "noisy" pictures. You'll want to ingredient that in when considering any a digital camera purchase. If you would like pictures with no noise, you then need to take a much bigger camera which include the Canon A95 or Sony W1. Also, I don;t recommend buying an ultracompact camera as the primary or sole camera. They can be best to bring to parties or tossing them within your bag to capture spontaneous life moments. You should not expect an ultacompact to make museum quality pictures it's simply not possible. I really assume that the XS50 offers probably the greatest photo quality in the arena of ultracompacts.

Besides the high photo quality, there is A LOT I like about my 4th digicam. 1st, the fee extremely good esp. when you consider the image quality, TINY size, and zoom capability. It looks like this can be a STEAL! 2nd, the single thing I disagree with Mossberg tends to be that he didn't think it looked very "sleek". I adore the all metal design besides the viewfinder, you won't find any cheap plastic parts. Even an A/V out includes a tiny metal door that slides straight. Not to ever be anti American made but it is obvious the is made in Japan. It might be extremely Simple use the buttons are intuitive. Concerning yet to hack open the manual. Furthermore , it takes its soothing "ding" sound as soon as the picture is at focus (in no way loud or annoying) in order that you are assured a fantastic picture! Even though it is very tiny, the lay out is extremely good with zero TOGGLE SWITCHES. Of course, possessing a 2" LCD monitor could be very helpful (and fun). You won't need to squint as a tiny viewfinder! The combined 12x zoom is quite COOL it's similsr to the submarine telescope and protude !

The only thing I'm not in love with is the fact that it runs on the proprietary battery but it's meant to last for across a 150 pictures and also "AA" batteries will have added a lot bulk. Overall,
I am THRILLED within this camera! I finally got (almost) EVERYTHING I got looking for in a ultracompact digital camera Nice photo quality, convenience, tiny size, and a really quick SHUTTER SPEED during a great price. What more are you able to want? Well, maybe a bigger memory : )
